Autumn Leaves

16th Oct 2020

This week we have been learning all about autumn leaves.

We know that some trees have leaves that turn red, orange and yellow in Autumn because there is less sun. We learned that chlorophyll is what makes leaves green, and in the Autumn, plants don’t make as much of this!

We went on a trip around our school grounds to observe the trees and the leaves that had fallen off the trees. We were each able to choose a beautiful Autumn leaf to take home.

We also learned that some trees don’t lose their leaves and stay green all year round!
