Christmas fun!

17th Dec 2020

In P4 we have been so busy completing lots of fun Christmas themed activities as well as learning about lots of different celebrations for our current topic ‘Celebrations’. We have been learning about how Christmas is celebrated all over the world. We learnt that in Australia everyone goes to Bondi Beach on Christmas Day, in Denmark they have their Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve, in Italy the Christmas season is celebrated from December right through to 6th January and lots more!! We worked with a partner to create super interesting fact files about how Christmas is celebrated in each country!

In addition to all of this we have completed lots of fun Christmas crafts. We learnt how to draw a reindeer in different steps, made Christmas cards for our friends and family and made handprint angels!!

On Friday 11th December we had a non-uniform day and everyone wore their best Christmas jumper to help raise money for the children’s hospice. Miss Cochrane even wore hers too! We also had our Christmas buffet on the same which was a lovely treat!!

As well as all of this we  made a class Nativity video to show the Christmas story and help spread the true meaning of Christmas to all of our friends and family! We all loved our nativity song ‘It’s a long way to Bethlehem’ and even learnt actions to all of the words. Everyone did so well and Miss Cochrane is so proud of all of the children in her class! How lucky is she to have such a lovely class?!

This week we have been having lots of fun and getting into the Christmas spirit. We completed a class graph to show everyone’s favourite part of Christmas dinner, wrote letters to Santa and played fun games likes pass the parcel, musical chairs and musical statues!! We have had such a busy and productive term this year and everyone is excited for Christmas and looking forward to the Christmas break!!

Check out out our cool pictures to see all of the fun and learning we have been getting up to! We are all looking forward to having a lovely Christmas with our families and being back together after the Christmas break to begin the new term refreshed and ready for lots more learning!!
